I refer to the Durack Institute of Technology – Centre for Resource Sector Workforce Training project funded from Royalties for Regions, and I ask: (a) what was the total number of contracts awarded for the construction project; (b) what was the total value of contracts awarded for the construction project; (c) what was the total number of contracts awarded for the construction project to companies based inside the Gascoyne region; (d) what was the total value of contracts awarded for the construction project to companies based inside the Gascoyne region; (e) can the Minister please outline the names of the companies based inside the Gascoyne that were awarded contracts, where each company is based and what each contract was for; (f) what was the total number of contracts awarded for the construction project to companies that were eligible to claim the regional price preference; (g) what was the total value of contracts awarded for the construction project to companies that were eligible to claim the regional price preference; and (h) can the Minister please outline the names of the companies that were eligible to claim the regional price preference that were awarded contracts, where each company is based and what each contract was for?

The Department of Finance awarded one head contract valued at $7,335,208 (GST exclusive) for the construction of the
Durack Institute of Technology (Centre for Resource Sector Workforce Training)
.
This contract was not awarded to a company based in the Gascoyne region.
However, it was awarded to Crothers Constructions Pty Ltd through their Geraldton office.
There are two regional price preferences.
Crothers Construction Pty Ltd was eligible to claim the regional business preference for this contract.
The regional content preference can be claimed by any business that intends to use local goods and/or services in the delivery of a State government contract.
The details of all subcontracting arrangements are held by the head contractor.
