(2) How many properties in (1) are unavailable to be occupied due to inadequate maintenance? (3) When are the properties in (2) due to have maintenance work completed? (4) How many of the properties in (2) will not have maintenance work completed: (a) For what reasons? (5) Can the Minister provide a timeline for when the properties in (1) will become available? (6) Are there any plans for any of the properties in (1) to be transferred to the management of Registered Community Housing Providers: (a) If yes, which ones and when?

(1) As at 31 December 2019, of the 35,871 public housing properties, there were a total of 1,665 which were vacant.

The Bunbury area office includes the towns/suburbs of Australind, Brunswick Junction, Bunbury, Capel, Carey Park, Collie, Dalyellup, Donnybrook, Eaton, Harvey and Withers.
The Kalgoorlie area office includes the towns/suburbs of Boulder, Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie, Kambalda, Laverton, Leonora & South Kalgoorlie.
The Geraldton area office includes the towns/suburbs of Beachlands, Carnamah, Cervantes, Dongara, Geraldton, Jurien Bay, Kalbarri, Karloo, Mullewa, Northampton, Perenjori, Port Denison, Rangeway, Spalding, Tarcoola Beach, Utakarra, Waggrakine, Wandin and Wonthella.
The above figures do not include vacant Community Housing properties as they are leased to Community Housing organisations and then externally managed. Communities is unable to provide vacancy data for these properties.
(2)  Nil. Properties can become vacant for several reasons. Of the 1,665 vacant public housing properties, a total of 917 were undergoing maintenance repairs and will be relet once repairs are completed, and 748 properties have been allocated for demolition, redevelopment, or sale.
(3) After a public housing property is vacated, the property must be inspected within:
Communities will issue work orders for maintenance repairs within two working days of completing this inspection. The availability for a property to be relet is determined by the amount and type of maintenance required. This is defined as below:
