(1) I refer to the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE), and I ask, how many students were enrolled in SIDE for both primary and secondary education in the following years: (a) 2021; (b) 2022; and (c) 2023 (to date)? (2) For each year in (1), please provide a breakdown by year group and whether they are an external or full time student enrolled in SIDE? (3) Please provide a list of subjects that SIDE offer and the number of students enrolled in each subject in the following years: (a) 2021; (b) 2022; and (c) 2023?

Note: Current roll students at SIDE must meet enrolment criteria to enrol directly with SIDE. Current roll students enrolled with SIDE are full-time students, but some external roll students are full-time with SIDE as well.
In this case, the use of current roll indicates that the students are enrolled directly with SIDE.
The current and external enrolments at the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) are not directly comparable. Students on the current role at SIDE are collected during the student census process each semester, whereas the figures for external enrolments are reported at the end of August or the start of September.
The provision of this information would require significant manual processing by school staff (especially by education region). This information has not been provided due to the administrative burden that would be placed on school staff.
Since 2021, SIDE can deliver educational services as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). These students are not currently reported as external roll students due to technical limitations. Work is underway to have details for external roll students and RTO students at SIDE captured through the student census system.
