and Mines Safety Significant Incident Report No’s. 158 and 164, I ask -
(1) Were these reports sent to all mines in Western Australia?
(2) If yes to (1), how?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
(4) Are Mines Safety Significant Incident Reports sent to all Mines in Western Australia?

(7) What methods are in place to ensure that Mining Companies review and correct procedures to ensure safety standards comply with the

(2) Each Significant Incident Report is published on the Department of Mines and Petroleum web site. With respect to Significant Incident Report Number 158 a copy was sent to the Registered Manager of each underground operation under cover of a letter dated 29 January 2010 after issues were raised by mining companies. In addition Significant Incident Report Number 158 was published in Mine Safe Volume 19 Number 1 May 2010 and Significant Incident Report Number 164 will be published in the next issue of Mine Safe Volume 19 Number 2 October 2010. Every Registered Mine Manager receives a copy of each issue of Mine Safe by mail. Mine Safe is also published on the Department of Mines and Petroleum's web site.

(7) The department uses many tools to enforce compliance with the relevant legislation. Such tools include:
a) Inspection of work places
b) Targeted compliance programs
