(b) what percentage of offenders who participate in such programs re-offend;
(c) by comparison, what percentage of offenders who do not participate in these programs re-offend; and
(d) what percentage of offenders who participate in these programs re-offend by committing a violent crime?

(1) Indigenous Family Violence Program (IFV), Indigenous Men Managing Anger and Substance Use Program (IMMASU), Indigenous Sex Offender Treatment Program - Medium Intensity (ISOTP); and Building on Aboriginal Skills (BOAS).
(a) IFV - preliminary analysis with a more formal evaluation to be completed during 2009;
IMMASU - preliminary analysis with a more detailed evaluation to be completed through client and facilitator, community consultation and focus groups;
ISOTP - matched sample study by Offender Programs and Edith Cowan research and evaluation team; and
BOAS commenced in late 2008.As such no data is available as yet.
(b) The Department of Corrective Services' (DCS) Offender Services has an Indigenous Facilitation Unit to improve and increase the delivery of culturally appropriate services.
The IMMASU and IFV programs are being modified to create region specific programs, and ISOTP is undergoing refinement to improve delivery.
(2) Resorative justice models are typically targeted at low end juvenile offenders and those who have not entered into the custodial system.
