I refer to a recent ABC news article entitled ‘Esperance power station approval calls WA Government process into question’, and I ask: (a) how many additional truck movements are expected to be on the road to cater for the transportation of gas to Esperance; (b) what are the estimated Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for the project, including the trucking of gas; (c) has additional road maintenance from additional trucks been taken into consideration; (d) what is the Government doing to address concerns of the community around safety with additional trucks on the road and noise pollution to the nearby hospital and residents; and (e) what is the expected additional costs to residents to change to bottled gas if the existing gas network is compromised, both capital changes and ongoing?
