The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) advises:
(1) As at 10 April 2015, 403 out 621 vehicles have been fitted.
Some brigade appliances have been identified as not requiring radiant heat shields. These include appliances that are:
- at the end of their serviceable life and are about to be replaced; and
- vehicles that are not designated as fire fighting appliances for example incident command vehicles and personnel carriers.

(3) December 2015.
