(1) The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) provides the following services for women with infants and children in the Tom Price area:
- Visiting Gynaecologist Obstetrician visits Paraburdoo Hospital one (1) day per month from Karratha.
- Breast Screen WA visit both Tom Price and Paraburdoo Hospital once every two (2) years for one (1) week duration at each location.
WACHS Pilbara Population Health provide the following services and programs through children health services (based in Tom Price):
- Breastfeeding and lactation support.
- Information on general health and wellbeing.
- Post Natal Depression screening.
- Parenting information and referral to specific women's health services.
(2) WACHS provides the following services for young people in the Tom Price area:
- The Paediatrician from Karratha visits monthly for two (2) days at Tom Price Hospital and one (1) day at Paraburdoo Hospital.
WACHS - Pilbara Population Health provide services and provisions through school health services:
- Information about healthy nutrition, safe drinking and other risk behaviours.
- Assist high school staff in development of health care plans for youth with chronic disease, mental health screening and referral using the HEADS assessment tool (home, education, activities, drugs and sexual activity).
- Offer school based immunisation programs.
- Provide information on how to access sexual health services.
- Participation in community events to promote health services and provide information to the youth in Tom Price.
(3) The above mentioned services are available at the locations below:
- Tom Price Hospital Outpatients, Mine Road, Tom Price.
- Paraburdoo Hospital, Rocklea Road, Paraburdoo.
- Child Health Centre located at Tom Price Hospital (also offers outreach to surrounding communities and home visits).
- Tom Price High School, Tom Price.
- Youth Shed in Tom Price.
