(d) The primary roles of bus security staff are to proactively detect and deter antisocial behaviour, provide support to Transperth bus drivers in relation to ticket disputes and other antisocial behaviour, provide a customer information service to passengers such as providing timetable information, directing passengers to appropriate departure stands, dealing with lost and found items and to assist with the day to day management of bus station facilities.
Bus security officers are appointed as Authorised Officers under the Public Transport Authority (PTA) Act and can issue infringements and eject persons from facilities and conveyances.
(e) Bus security resources are deployed across the metropolitan area based on expected levels of antisocial behaviour and patronage.
