Teacher recruitment has kept apace with the need to provide for student education in these learning areas. Some additional teacher skills are required to teach some aspects of VET. The most notable are the credentialing to assess in the workplace, and some teacher experience in relevant workplaces. There are now 3 080 teachers in public schools who have gained the Certificate IV Workplace Assessor requirement. Resources are provided on demand for teacher in industry placements. Over the past 12 months there have been 300 teacher industry placements.
