(a)-(b) Tourism Western Australia owns the variable message sign (VMS) on the Burswood Footbridge. In an agreement with Main Roads Western Australia the VMS allows for information regarding EventsCorp supported international events based in Perth to be displayed until January 2011 on the Main Roads Western Australia owned footbridge. The total cost to Tourism Western Australia of establishing the sign in 2006 was $93,658.91 (GST exclusive). Once the VMS was established the only ongoing cost is around $40.00 per month for electricity. The VMS text is changed as required by a Tourism Western Australia staff member via a special laptop at minimal cost.
