ELIZABETH QUAY — TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION
138. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Does the
Minister for Transport expect that a tunnel under Elizabeth Quay will be
required at some time in the future?
(2) What
preliminary works could be undertaken now to provide for a future tunnel under
Elizabeth Quay?
(3) Do any of the
current plans for Elizabeth Quay restrict the ability to build or are they
likely to increase the cost of building a tunnel in the future?
(4) If yes, what are the details?
(5) Does the
minister have any concerns that the design or location of future buildings at
Elizabeth Quay will restrict the ability to build or are they likely to
increase the cost of building a tunnel in the future?

(1) There are no plans for a tunnel
under Elizabeth Quay.
