(1) Has any attempt been made by your Department to calculate the estimated electricity requirements of the South West Metropolitan Railway system once it is operational?
(2) If no such attempt has been made, why not?
(3) If the electricity requirements of the South West Metropolitan Railway system, once it is operational, have been calculated will the Minister supply details of what the estimated power usage will be per annum?
(4) What are the current power requirements of the Metropolitan area?
(5) What is the maximum power Western Power can deliver at the current time?

(2) Not applicable (3) Until load requirements are available, it is not possible to estimate usage. The electricity usage (if available) would need to be requested from the retailer that is selected by the customer in the de-regulated market. (4) Western Powers peak winter demand for the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) was 2,336MW, the summer peak reached 2,719MW. (5) Western Powers generating units are capable of delivering 3,172MW of power to the SWIS. If the Member would like to discuss this issue in further detail I can arrange someone at Western Power to contact her.
