The Western Australian Police Force advise:
(2) Between 17 March 2017 and 3 December 2018, the Western Australia Police Force received a total of 4 706 Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
a) Of the requests received, 1 680 took over 45 days to complete (the permitted period under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 ). It is estimated that one or more extensions of time were sought in respect to the requests.
b) (i) - (ii) To accurately answer these questions, the WA Police Force would need to divert police resources to undertake a manual search.
Under the 2017 Machinery of Government changes, from 1 July 2017, the Road Safety Commission (RSC) administratively joined the WA Police Force.
From 17 March 2017 to 30 June 2017 there was one FOI request made to RSC which was subsequently transferred to WA Police Force on 1 July 2017. All FOI requests from 1 July 2017 for RSC have been made out to the WA Police Force.
