With the dimensions of the new sports arena now available, and with the Premier stating that sports played on rectangular fields will be able to use this arena, I ask:
(a) how many games per season does the Minister expect Soccer, Rugby League and Rugby Union to play at the new sports arena;
(b) what plans does the Government have for cricket to be played at the new stadium;
(c) how many corporate boxes will there be, and what distance from the rectangular playing arena will they be located; and
(d) what future does the Government envisage for the NIB stadium and the redevelopment of Perth Oval?

(a) The multi-purpose stadium will have the flexibility and design functionality to host large scale soccer, rugby league and rugby union matches. The number of these events will vary depending on their projected crowds and the events those sports wish to bid for.
(b) The dimensions of the stadium meet the ICC requirements for domestic and international cricket matches.
(c) The number of premium product offerings in the stadium is being investigated through the Project Definition Plan phase. The distance from the playing arena will depend on the premium product offering.
(d) The State has committed $95.14million to the stage 1 redevelopment of nib Stadium. The stadium will continue to be the dedicated venue for rectangular sports in Western Australia with a capacity at the completion of stage 1 of approximately 20,500.
