IRON ORE PROCESSING
(MINERALOGY PTY. LTD.) AGREEMENT AMENDMENT BILL 2020
758. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the Leader of the House representing the Attorney General:
I ask this question on behalf of Hon
Michael Mischin, who is away on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to the dispute between the
state and interests connected with Mr Clive Palmer that the government seeks to
dispose of by way of the Iron Ore Processing (Mineralogy Pty. Ltd.) Agreement
Amendment Bill 2020.
(1) To what
extent will the passage of the bill preserve or reduce the ability of Parliament
to have produced to it documents and other information relating to the
government's dealings regarding this matter and the arbitration and
legal proceedings arising out of it?
(2) Can the
government now table any such documents that will be unavailable following the
passage of the bill and its enactment; and, if it refuses to do so, explain in
detail why?
