HIGHWAY STAGE 8 — FEDERAL FUNDING
452. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Is the
state government working out a deal with the federal government to fund the Roe
8 highway extension through the Beeliar wetlands?
(2) Is federal funding contingent on heavy vehicles paying a
road toll?
(3) What
proportion of vehicles expected to travel on the Roe 8 highway extension would
be heavy vehicles?
(4) Are proceeds from a road toll to be directed to state or
federal coffers?
(5) How much
of the proceeds from a toll would be used to fund wetland conservation and
habitat preservation?
