(1) Yes, the Water Corporation removes naturally occurring fluoride from public water supply where fluoride levels exceed Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
(2)(a) Dunsborough.
(b) Groundwater is sourced for Dunsborough’s water supply from more than one aquifer. Fluoride is removed from groundwater extracted from the Sue aquifer as fluoride levels exceed Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. Fluoride is not removed from groundwater extracted from the Leederville aquifer. As the use of groundwater bores from these aquifers is not continuous, fluoride removal is not continuous. Data on the specific dates that fluoride removal occurred is not readily available.
(c) Fluoride waste is disposed at Dunsborough Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Recently, this waste has been carted directly to the sludge lagoons at the WWTP.
(d) No. The Water Corporation conducts fluoride removal itself.
(e) Not applicable.
