I refer to the Ministers answer to question without notice No. 379, which was asked in the Legislative Council on 9 April 2009, and I ask -
(1) Has the Minister sought further information to see whether something occurred which could be avoided in the future?
(2) If yes to (1), what is it?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

(1) Yes
(2) As previously stated, the Truscott Airbase is not under the jurisdiction of the Department of Mines & Petroleum. The Airbase is used as a service transport base for companies operating in both Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
However, I requested the Department informally inquire into this matter. I have been advised that the incident was not work related. The individual awoke in the morning unwell and developed symptoms of bleeding on the brain and is in hospital in Perth and making progress towards recovery.
(3) Not applicable
