LOGGING — 2011 AND 2012
894. Hon GIZ WATSON to the minister representing the Minister
for Environment:
I refer to forest logging for the
years 2011 and 2012.
(1) What is the area of jarrah forest logged under —
(a) gap creation;
(b) shelter wood;
(c) thinning;
(d) single tree selection;
(e) selective felling; and
(f) in total?
(2) What is the area of karri and mixed jarrah–karri
forest logged under —
(a) clear-felling —
(i) with seed trees; and
(ii) without seed trees;
(b) thinning; and
(c) in total?

The information requested by the honourable member is published annually in the
Department of Environment and Conservation's yearbook. I did ask
whether the member would be happy with that response or whether I should copy
it for her. She was happy with me providing the information in this way:
information for the calendar year 2010 was included in DEC's 2010–11
yearbook at pages 93 and 94, which is published on DEC's website. The
information for 2011 is currently being compiled for publication in DEC's
2011–12 yearbook.
