374. Hon DARREN WEST to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) How many paying passengers
travelled on the AvonLink service in
each of —
(a) 2014 —
(i) January;
(ii) February; and
(iii) March?
(b) 2015 —
(i) January;
(ii) February; and
(iii) March?
(2) What was the
total subsidy paid by government, inclusive of subsidies paid by both the
Public Transport Authority and royalties for regions, in each of the months
listed?

(1) (a) The AvonLink service between Midland and Northam carried the following
passengers for the following months —
(i) January 2014: 1 011 total—961 paying, 50 non-paying;
(ii) February 2014: 1 097 total—1 047 paying, 50 non-paying; and
(iii) March 2014: 1 181 total—1 128 paying, 53 non-paying.
(b) (i) January 2015: 1 969 total—1 841 paying, 128 non-paying;
(ii) February 2015: 1 788 total—1 684 paying, 104 non-paying;
and
(iii) March 2015: 1 819 total—1 716 paying, 103 non-paying.
(2) The Public Transport Authority is paid a
subsidy from government, including funding from the government's
royalty for regions program, to operate Transwa services. The following
operating cost fare revenue subsidies paid for the months in question —
(a) (i) January 2014, $204 041.83;
(ii) February 2014, $80 611.36; and
(iii) March 2014, $130 471.32.
(b) (i) January 2015, $258 634.17;
(ii) February 2015, $165 724.72; and
(iii) March 2015, $144 176.26.
