WORKS — REFERENCE GROUP REPORT
314. Hon SALLY
TALBOT to the minister representing the Minister for Environment:
I refer to the reference group that prepared the report in
October 2011 about the use of recycled materials in state government civil
works.
(1) Who were the members of the group and who were they
representing?
(2) Has the report been made public; and, if not, will the
minister table a copy of the report?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) The Waste
Authority established the reference group with the following membership: Mr
Marcus Geisler, Waste Authority, chair; Mr Mark Bondietti, Western Australian
Local Government Association; Ms Rebecca Brown, WALGA; Mr Michael Gunton,
Institute of Public Works, Engineering Australia; Mr Dan Young, All Earth
Group; Mr Adrian Lester, Lester Group; Mr Bruce Bowman, Waste Management
Association Australia; Mr Colin Leek, City of Canning; Mr Allan Nelson,
EarthCare Recycling; Mr Ray Gullotto, Capital Recycling; and Mr Sam Mangione,
Instant Waste Management.
(2) The report
was prepared to provide options for consideration by government on what
initiatives might be supported in the Waste Authority's business plan,
which will give effect to the objectives of the Western Australian waste
strategy, Creating the Right Environment. Those initiatives that are supported
by government will be included in the Waste Authority's business plan.
