Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to the
implementation of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act.
(1) Has the
Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage finalised and deployed the relevant
IT platform for spatial information on local Aboriginal cultural heritage
services?
(2) If no to (1),
when will that be deployed?
(3) Has the DPLH
finalised a system for permit applications to LACHS?
(4) If no to (3),
when will that be deployed?
(5) How much of
the $10 million allocated to support LACHS been drawn down?
(6) Which LACHS
have received funding from the state government?

(1)–(4) The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is
currently developing a new ICT platform, which will include information
relating to LACHS and provide for the lodgement of applications for permits and
Aboriginal cultural heritage management plans, to be ready for the
implementation of the new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021 on 1 July 2023.
(5) Nil. The
grant program commenced with a call for expressions of interest, and 43 organisations
and individuals have responded to that EOI, with more responses expected prior
to the act coming into effect.
