I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)–(2) The government works with Western Australian Local Government Association on a wide range of issues. The Department of Environment and Conservation and I meet with WALGA on an ongoing basis. As such, this does not need to be undertaken through multiple committee structures. The State – Local Government Climate Change and Sustainability Council and the WALGA – DEC climate change planning committee are no longer operating. However, DEC continues to liaise with WALGA on a range of issues, including climate change initiatives. The Department of Environment and Conservation – Local Government Climate Change Adaptation Toolkit committee completed its task with the launch of the toolkit on 12 April 2010. WALGA provides ongoing management of the online toolkit. The WA threatened ecological community scientific committee continues to operate.
