DEPARTMENT
OF MINES AND PETROLEUM— MATERIAL DATA SAFETY SHEETS
49. Hon ALISON
XAMON to the Minister for Mines and Petroleum:
I refer to the
material data safety sheets that should be on-site at all drilling and
hydraulic fracturing operations.
(1) Are those material data safety sheets
made available to the landowner, especially in those locations where drills are
on farming land?
(2) If not, why not?

I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1) No.
(2) Material safety data sheets are required
under the safety management plan and the environmental management plan, which
currently are not public documents. However, the Department of Mines and
Petroleum, in consultation with relevant parties including the Australian
Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Ltd, is working towards making
this information publicly available.
