LOGUE BROOK DAM — RETAIL VALUE OF WATER
I have a supplementary question. Can the minister tell the house the approximate retail value of the 5.3 gigalitres of water now abandoned in Logue Brook Dam? Dr G.G. JACOBS

The member should understand the history of this issue. Logue Brook Dam’s reserve of water was for agricultural irrigation use. Despite his suggestion that there is no other way of replacing that five gigalitres, we have other resources. Several members interjected. Dr G.G. JACOBS : The other resources are reserves in groundwater, surface water and the base-load capacity reserve of water. In fact, the previous government, which comprised members from the other side, decided it was important to establish the southern seawater desal 2. These measures are security by diversity!
