ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AUTHORITY — CARBON TAX
523. Mr W.R. MARMION to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. How
does the Premier explain that his office became aware of the cost of the
Environmental Protection Authority's proposed greenhouse gas emission
guidelines on 27 February, more than a week before they were released publicly,
yet he was unaware?

As
I understand it, some questions have been answered in the upper house about
various briefing notes that went around the place. The member may not recall
too well what it is like to be a minister, but there are hundreds upon hundreds
of these documents at any given point in time. To the best of my knowledge, it
was not brought to my attention.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Mr M. McGOWAN : This is early
March that we are dealing with and we are now in late June. This question is
about a draft document that was withdrawn in early March and does not apply. Is
the member's question about that? Surely the Liberal Party of Western Australia,
with all its resources, can come up with some better questions than that.
