I refer to the Fourth Annual Kimberley Energy and Resources Development Conference held on 9 and 10 May 2011, Cable Beach Club Resort, Broome at which Dr Ivor Roberts, Executive Director - Mineral Titles Division, Department of Mines and Petroleum, spoke on ‘Government initiatives and mineral project approvals in the Kimberley’, and I ask -
(1) Is the Government reviewing how coal gasification licences are to be administered?
(2) What administrative regime is preferred by the Minister -
(a) by Petroleum Licensing; or
(b) by Mining Licensing?
(3) In the same context as (1) and (2), has the Minister reviewed the licensing process of hydraulic fracturing or hydrofracking for the recovery of oil and natural gas?
(4) If yes to (3), what administrative regime is preferred to by the Minister?
(5) How many companies are investigating coal gasification options in Western Australia?
(6) Will the Minister table a list of corporations investigating coal gasification options in Western Australia and their area of research?
