In relation to the Ruah Community Services and Night Shelter in Lane Street Highgate, I ask:
(a) as the clients were aboriginal women, many of whom were classed as high risk, what is happening to them now that the service has closed; and
(b) what added strain has been placed on other refuges and night shelters since the Ruah service has ceased?

(a) Ruah Community Services is continuing to provide services to homeless Aboriginal women during the refurbishment of the Anawim building and a review of the service model.
The Karlamia Day Centre continues to operate from another site within Ruah Community Services.
Women accessing Anawim Refuge are being accommodated and supported in alternative Ruah Community Services properties during the refurbishment of the refuge.
Women who would otherwise access the Karlamia Night Shelter are being accommodated at either the Salvation Army's Bridge House in Perth or The Sisters' Place in Fremantle.
(b) There has been no indication from other services that they have experienced added strain as a result of the temporary arrangements at Ruah - Anawim Aboriginal Women's Service.
