(a) how many patients have already
been moved out of Graylands;

I thank the member for the question.
(1) The draft ''Western
Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services Plan 2015–2025''
acknowledges the need for a carefully planned and phased closure of Graylands
Hospital, to be complemented by investment in contemporary models of care.
Agreement has recently been reached between the Mental Health Commissioner and
the acting director general of Health for this planning to commence.
(2) No, the
plan is still being finalised. However, the reconfiguration of mental health
beds over the past year has included the opening of 24 hospital-in-the-home
beds in the North Metropolitan Health Service. These beds have offset the
closure of 32 beds on the Plaistowe ward at Graylands Hospital in early 2014.
In addition, the new Midland Health Campus, scheduled to open in November 2015,
will include a 56-bed mental health unit that includes nine beds transferred
from Graylands.
(3) Not
applicable.
