Responded by
Parliamentary Secretary representing the Minister for Transport
Response time
36 days
(a)
The self-completion survey forms were distributed to 9,840 households in Bunbury, Mandurah, Perth and Rockingham. It should be noted that the 'Household Survey' is but one strand of the forecasting study. Intercept surveys were also undertaken of bus, train and car users travelling between Perth and Bunbury.
(b)
1,002 - this is consistent with the usual response rate from mail-out surveys.
(c)
There were 1,440 households selected in postcode 6210 but none in 6208 because it was felt that the relevance of the route was much more in favour of 6210 than 6208.
(d)
The work was conducted by Cardno Eppell Olsen on behalf of the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia. With reference to the component parts of the exercise - Data Analysis Australia designed the survey. The implementation of the survey and data entry was undertaken by Creating Communities Australia.
(e)
This survey will form part of a report that will be presented to the Government for its consideration before the end of this year.
(f)
Two workshops were held in Bunbury at which the local authorities from Bunbury, Waroona, Harvey and Mandurah were invited to attend. The City of Bunbury attended both workshops, the City of Mandurah attended one of the workshops and the Shires of Waroona and Harvey did not send a representative to either of the workshops.
(g)
Yes. [See tabled paper no ]
