(a) (i) - (ii) Please see answer to Legislative Council Question Without Notice 148.
(b) (i) I am advised that the specialist homelessness services data reported by AIHW is based on financial year.
In 2014-15, AIHW data indicate there were 3,466 instances for requests for accommodation with family and domestic violence services in the metropolitan where there was no accommodation available at the time of the request.
For the period July-December 2015 cumulative AIHW data indicates there were 1,296 instances for requests for accommodation with family and domestic violence services in the metropolitan area where there was no accommodation available at the time of request. Please note this is unpublished preliminary AIHW data, and services are still able to change/correct information in the AIHW data collection system if required.
Note: The total number of unassisted requests does not represent the total number of individuals requesting accommodation, as an individual could make multiple requests.
(ii)  I am advised that data for the period 1 January to 19 February 2016 cannot be provided as the information is reported quarterly by the AIHW. The next available cumulative AIHW data will be for the period July 2015 to March 2016. It is anticipated this data will be available in July 2016.
It is important to note that if women and children are unable to access support through a specific refuge service, assistance can be provided through the Department’s Crisis Care Unit to link the individual or family to another refuge service or other temporary accommodation options.
