BUS RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM — CONCEPT DESIGN STUDY
663. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Department of Transport tender for the
Ellenbrook bus rapid transit corridor concept design study.
(1) Has the study been completed; and, if yes, on what date?
(2) Will the
minister table the report; and, if not, why not, and when will the minister
make the report public?
(3) What was
the cost of the study and what did the concept design study estimate the cost
of the Ellenbrook bus rapid transit project would be?
(4) What is the current estimated cost of the Ellenbrook bus
rapid transit project?
(5) Does the minister expect that the Ellenbrook bus rapid
transit project will proceed?

question.
(1) The report is substantially completed.
(2) The report
is not yet complete. A decision to release the report to the public will be
made by government when appropriate.
(3)–(4)
The cost of the study was $705 000. The full cost of the Ellenbrook bus rapid
transit project was estimated to be $120 million, including land resumption
costs and based on escalated costs.
(5) Not at this stage.
