Mr. Katsambanis questions the Premier about a Supreme Court injunction regarding a 'dangerous offender' at the Bennett Brook Disability Justice Centre, inquiring if the individual escaped and what the government is concealing. The Premier refutes the premise, stating the individual is not an offender and the centre's location was determined by the previous government.

BENNETT BROOK DISABILITY
JUSTICE CENTRE — SUPREME COURT INJUNCTION
556. Mr P.A. KATSAMBANIS to the Premier:
Given the Premier's
government has taken out a Supreme Court injunction against media outlets,
stopping them from publishing information on
a dangerous offender who is housed at the disability justice centre in
Caversham, has this dangerous
offender escaped from the centre at any stage; and, if not, what else is the
government trying to hide?

The
member might be better off asking that question of the Attorney General or the
Minister for Corrective Services . I do not have the exact details of
this particular offender to hand or whether he is indeed an offender. I am
unaware of whether —
Mr D.J. Kelly : No, he's
not.
Mr M. McGOWAN : He is not an
offender. The premise of the member's question was wrong, as per usual.
He is not an offender.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Mr M. McGOWAN : The premise of
the member's question was wrong, as per usual. I do not have the exact
details, but I do know that the disability justice centre was placed in that
location by the last Liberal–National government, so if the member's
concern is about the location of the centre, the centre was built by the
previous government and it placed it in that location.
