APPRENTICESHIP
ORGANISATIONS — COMMONWEALTH FUNDING
603. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to
the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Training and Workforce Development:
I refer to changes announced by the commonwealth government to the
funding of apprenticeship bodies such as WA ApprentiCentres and Group Training
Australia.
(1) As a result of the changes to the
funding of group training, how many group training organisations in WA will be
impacted?
(2) Will the state government change the
funding of existing WA group training organisations as a result of the
commonwealth changes; and, if so, by how much and which Group Training
organisations will be impacted?
(3) As the successful WA tenderer for
commonwealth funding of group training, will CCI Learning Solutions receive
state funding; and, if so, by how much per annum?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) There are 25 Western
Australian–based group training organisations currently in receipt
of joint state –commonwealth group training
funding. The state government's contribution to the group training
funding program will remain at $2.95 million in 2015–16.
(3) Funding of the Australian Apprenticeship
Support Network is not related to funding of group training organisations. The
Chamber of Commerce and Industry currently receives state funding as one of 25
group training organisations. It will continue to be eligible to apply for
ongoing state group training funding in 2015–16.
