I refer to the Premier’s letter to me dated 7 February 2006, in relation to the publication of successful State Government tenders, and I ask -
(1) What steps have been taken to address the short coming referred to?
(2) When is it anticipated that all tender award details valued at $10 000 and over will be made available on the Western Australian Government Contracting Information Bulletin Board?
(3) What information will be included in these details?

(1) Since February 2006 the Department of Housing and Works (DHW) introduced a process whereby the office that called the tender published the results. An audit in September 2006 revealed a number of outstanding tenders and DHW is reinforcing with staff the importance of publishing tender results. In future these audits will be conducted quarterly. (2) For those tenders that have been awarded DHW anticipates that all details will be published on GEM within the next 4 to 6 weeks. (3) The information that will be included in the tender details are: (a) the tender number; (b) closing date; (c) details of the project; (d) name of successful contractor; (e) number of tenderers and their prices; (f) contract award date; and (g) the contract award sum.
