Domestic Gas Security in a
Changing World —Recommendations
718. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for State Development:
I refer to the
August 2024 final report of the Economics and Industry Standing Committee
entitled Domestic Gas Security in a Changing World ,
for which the Cook government supported eight of the 30 recommendations.
(1) As at 15 September 2025, how many of the
recommendations that the government supported have been implemented to date?
(2) Of the recommendations that were supported by government
that have not yet been implemented, by what specific date will the government
implement each of the recommendations?
(3) Has the LNG industry improved its supply of
domestic gas to increase the amount of domgas supplied compared with the amount
of LNG produced?
(4) If no to (3), what is the Cook government
doing about it?

been provided by the Minister for State Development.
(1) It is four.
(2) Work on the remaining recommendations is
underway. The government expects to implement these recommendations in 2025 and
2026.
(3) Yes.
(4) Not applicable.
