125. Hon Tjorn Sibma to
the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Education:
I refer to the
number of suspensions and exclusions in public schools provided in response to
my question of 29 April.
(1) How many of the suspensions and exclusions cited
fell into each of the suspension and exclusion categories used by the
department?
(2) How many sites hosted the department's
alternative learning settings program in 2024?
(3) How many students participated in the
alternative learning settings program in 2024?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. The Department of Education advises the following.
(1) Due to recent system changes, suspension data for
2024, including by category, is yet to be finalised.
(2) There were 12.
(3) There were 229.
