LIQUOR RESTRICTIONS — FITZROY CROSSING
(1) By endorsing the extension of the liquor restrictions in Fitzroy Crossing by two months, is the minister considering similar restrictions to other Kimberley towns? (2) If these restrictions continue to be successful in reducing domestic violence, assisting in better parenting and ensuring the education of children, will the minister endorse further time extensions? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) There is no doubt that there have been improvements in Fitzroy Crossing. It was quite evident when I went to Fitzroy Crossing on another matter that there was certainly a very positive feeling in the community and that things were going quite well there. I will not go through the indicators, because they have already been put on the public record. However, any decision on the variation to a licence is not a decision for me to make. Under the Liquor Control Act, it is fairly and squarely the responsibility of the Director of Liquor Licensing.
