I refer the minister to the poor record of the Court Government in managing the State’s finances, in particular to the poor record of the Leader of the Opposition in attracting investment to the State during his eight years as Minister for Resources Development. Is the minister aware of any Liberal advertising campaign currently under way that seeks to rewrite history and present the Liberal Party and the Leader of the Opposition as strong financial and economic managers? Mr C.M. BROWN

The Liberal Party has a campaign under way, and what a campaign it is! The pamphlets have been put out in the corporate image, and they have the message. However, is the Liberal Party proud of the Leader of the Opposition? Is it promoting the Leader of the Opposition? What is the Liberal Party saying about the Leader of the Opposition? Let us have a look. I have here the first pamphlet on the Liberal candidate for Swan Hills. There is a pretty photo of the candidate on the front page of the pamphlet. Let us see where the photo of the Leader of the Opposition is in here; let us open up the pamphlet like a scratch lotto ticket and see if his photo is in here. Is he here? He is not here! They are hiding him! Wait a minute - here is a pamphlet on the candidate for Wanneroo. Has he got a photo of the Leader of the Opposition in his pamphlet? Let us have a look. I am opening it up, it could be a lucky lotto ticket; there is nothing there again! Another failure! Wait a minute - third time lucky; this could be the one! Has the Leader of the Opposition got a friend anywhere among the candidates? Is there any friendly face in this pamphlet? Let us have a look. It could be a surprise this time. Oh no! He is not in here either! The SPEAKER: I fail to see how this has anything to do with the question that has been asked of the minister. That question is now finished.
