(2-7) The Police Service advises that the information sought is neither contained in any document published, nor routinely generated. To obtain this information would require police personnel having to undertake individual criminal record checks and associated perusal of each record. As this would cause an unreasonable diversion of police resources, I am not prepared to authorise such action. In respect to conviction and sentencing details, the Department of Justice may be able to assist with the provision of this information. (8) Yes (9) Of the 133 juveniles processed for reported burglary offences: — Eighty six (86) were arrested; — Nine (9) were summonsed; — Eighteen (18) were cautioned; — Twelve (12) were referred to a Juvenile Justice Team; and — Eight (8) were below the age of criminal responsibility. There is a statute bar to proceedings where an offender is under age. (10-14) See questions 2-7. Statistical Notes: (a) The number of persons processed does not necessarily provide the number of offences as more than one offender could be processed for a single offence and/or a processed person may have committed more than one offence. In addition, the number of persons processed during the period may include persons who have been processed on more than one occasion during the period. Accordingly, the data cannot be used to calculate reported offence numbers or clearance rates. Caution should be exercised in its application. (b) The offences reported during the period for which a person was processed may include offences committed during earlier periods as an incident is recorded when processed.
