I refer to section 15 of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 1985 (Repealed) whereby the Attorney General could issue a certificate to allow compensation to be awarded to victims of crime in certain circumstances, and I ask: (a) in each calendar year that the section was in force, how many certificates were applied for; and (b) in each calendar or financial year that the section was in force, how many certificates were issued?

(a)-(b)
I am advised that a preliminary search by the State Solicitor's Office has identified at least 162 separate files that are of relevance. These will need to be recalled from archive and individually examined.
Mindful of the above constraints, I will endeavour to provide a reply if the Member has a specific query about a particular application and/or certificate.
