I refer to the mounting concern among all Western Australian consumers about rising import levels of unlabelled fresh produce. Will the Premier move immediately to introduce legislation to compel sellers of fresh produce in Western Australia to provide accurate information about the country of origin? Dr G.I. GALLOP

I firstly congratulate the member for Merredin on his appointment. It was an uncontested position. I offer my commiserations to the former Leader of the National Party, who enjoys a lot of support from within this Parliament. The Economics and Industry Standing Committee is looking into the matter. We agree with the concept of proper labelling for all products. I look forward to the results of the report, which should give us good advice on the way to go forward as a state.
