JOBS — 2018–19
STATE BUDGET
536. Mrs L.M. HARVEY to the Premier:
I refer to the 2018–19
budget that clearly states that 50 000 jobs will be created in the 2017–18
and 2018–19 financial years.
(1) Is the Premier aware that his
budget commitment has delivered only 20 000 jobs to 31 May?
(2) Where are the remaining 30 000
jobs going to be created in this final month?

(1)–(2) I
can give the Leader of the Opposition a precis of what the government has
achieved since we have been in office, and that is 40 000 additional jobs.
Mrs L.M.
Harvey : You're 30 000 short.
Mr M. McGOWAN : There are 40 000
additional jobs. The Leader of the Opposition had better check her maths. Over
the final term of the previous government, from memory, 25 000 jobs were lost
in Western Australia. That is a pretty big difference, and I think it shows the
economic confidence that has returned to Western Australia under this
government.
