Over the last five years, growth in the key areas of diagnostics, surgical, emergency and specialist services has seen the role of Bunbury Hospital progress to the major referral centre for the South West - exemplified by its role as the Regional Resource Centre for the region. The hospital also now provides many services to the smaller surrounding sites, including instrument sterilising services, infection control, cancer care coordination, supply services and a regional cooperative structure for medical staffing at Bunbury and Busselton Emergency Departments. Facilities have also increased, with the recent developments being the new Community Mental Health Centre, Dental Health Service and additional beds for the Acute Psychiatric Unit.
