I had been the minister responsible for just a few days—a
few hours actually. I have not counted them. I will let the member know. I look
forward to it. This is a very important issue —
Mr
W.J. Johnston interjected.
Dr
M.D. NAHAN : I hear noises, Mr Speaker.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Cannington, I call you to order for the second time.
Mr
W.J. Johnston interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Member for Cannington, I call you to order for the third time. If you shout out
again, you will be asked to leave the chamber.
Dr M.D. NAHAN :
This is a very important issue, and it is very important that we get it right.
Over the next year, we will go through a major review at the commonwealth and
state levels of how to deal with, assist and adapt to changing technology in
the energy sector. I think the ERA is the proper organisation to do that
review, but it is not the only organisation that will be in the space. I look
forward to it completing a report, helping us respond to the commonwealth's
review, and assisting with the rational development of renewable energy in this
state.
