I thank the member for the question and the very real contribution that he has been making on taxi issues. The opposition will be very pleased to hear the good news; it loves to hear good news and that services are working for the people of Western Australia. The government has been trialling a raft of measures to deal with the very large nightclub queues in Fremantle. Its most recent innovation has been the introduction of some Nightrider buses that travel along three defined routes between 12.30 and 4.30 on Sunday mornings. I am pleased to say that patronage on these buses has been very strong. On the first Saturday night, 8 October, a total of 220 people used the service. On the second Saturday night patronage increased by some 46 per cent to 322. In the first week the waiting time was reduced from around 47 minutes to 26 minutes. Last week the waiting time was reduced further to 20 minutes. It has been a very successful project. We are now considering how we can perhaps extend that and whether such a service is relevant to Northbridge. It just shows that the government is being actively innovative and is prepared to trial new things to deal with the issues that we face. This is a very successful project.
