· 350 of these teachers will be required to take up positions in early childhood education. · A further 50 teachers will be required to fill literacy and numeracy positions. · The remainder will be recruited to fill positions that may arise across the school system, in the primary area, either at the beginning of the school year or throughout the course of the year. (3) Up to 770. It is projected that up to 15% of these will be teachers of English, 11% will be teachers of science, 11% will be teachers of mathematics, 9% will be teachers of health and physical education, 10% will be teachers of society and environment. The remainder will be teachers of various learning areas.
