(g) why is the Premier featured in the documentary about differing cultural backgrounds?
The television multiculturalism documentary project is to address stereotyping of different ethnic backgrounds, to raise awareness of multiculturalism and to illustrate incidences of racial discrimination in WA and their impact. A draft documentary has been produced which does not fully meet the requirements of the Office of Multicultural Interests. The contract is currently being terminated, and the amount to be paid determined, through negotiations by the State Solicitors Office. A new contract will be sought to continue the project to meet the outstanding requirements of the Office of Multicultural Interests once those negotiations have been finalised. It is anticipated that the majority of the raw material that has already been produced will be used in or considered for future iterations of the project. The Premier does not feature in the documentary and it is not intended that he do so.
