For the purposes of preparing the State Budget: (a) what does the Department of Treasury assume to be the annual cost of: (i) one full-time equivalent (FTE) teacher at each salary level; (ii) one FTE Principal at each salary level; (iii) one FTE Deputy Principal at each salary level; (iv) one FTE Teacher Assistant at each salary level; (v) one FTE school cleaner at each salary level; (vi) one FTE school gardener at each salary level; (vii) one FTE school Registrar at each salary level; (viii) one FTE school clerical assistant at each salary level; (ix) contracting from the Department of Education to the Department of Health for one FTE school nurse; (x) contracting from the Department of Education to the relevant agency for one FTE occupational therapist to work in schools; (xi) contracting from the Department of Education to the relevant agency for one FTE speech therapist to work in schools; and (xii) contracting from the Department of Education to the relevant agency for one FTE physiotherapist to work in schools; and (b) what was the budgetary assumption for each of (a)(i) to (a)(xii) for: (i) the 2008–2009 Budget; (ii) the 2009–2010 Budget; (iii) the 2010–2011 Budget; (iv) the 2011–2012 Budget; and (v) the 2012-2013 Budget?

(a)(i)-(viii) The Department of Education does not use a methodology based on the annual average FTE cost for each employment category when it calculates the Employee Benefits component of the State Budget Papers.
(ix) The Department of Education has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Health for the provision of School Nurses. Indexed lump sum payments are made to Health twice a year to pay for this service. The MOU does not refer to a rate per school nurse.
(x) There is no centralised agreement for contracting of occupational therapists to work in schools.
(xi) There is no centralised agreement for contracting of speech therapists to work in schools.
(xii) There is no centralised agreement for contracting of physiotherapists to work in schools.
(b)(i)-(v) The Department of Education does not use a methodology based on the annual average FTE cost for each employment category when it calculates the Employee Benefits component of the State Budget Papers.
